Wearable Mithila Art

Rooted in the centuries-old art of Bihar, every hand-painted piece feels like wearing a painting — curated by Sangita.

Our Heritage

Rang Mithila is a business I founded to share the heritage of my home, the Mithila region of Bihar, through thoughtfully crafted sarees, suits, and home décor. Every piece draws inspiration from the centuries-old Madhubani tradition, an art form that once adorned the mud walls of village homes and continues to tell stories through its intricate patterns.

Every piece you see here has been worn and loved — by me, or by my friends, family and relatives, long before this ever became a website. There are no models in these photos, only people who actually wear this work.

Our Madhubani artist
The Hands Behind Every Piece

Unlike most labels, everything at Rang Mithila is painted by one artist — a woman from a village in rural Bihar. She's married, has a young child, and like many women in her position, has had to work hard just to make ends meet. Madhubani painting is a skill she has spent years mastering.

By giving her steady, paid work on every piece we sell, Rang Mithila exists to support her directly — not as charity, but because her craft is genuinely this good. When you buy a piece from this collection, you're not just buying a saree or a suit — you're backing her livelihood.
